I've only just started to read this book. I am not a good reader but found the subject of this book too good to pass up. I love this era and the life of this memorable Queen. This book may be difficult for some because she references many people in the short excerpts. Not too far into the beginning of her reign, at 18 years old, I can see the overwhelming reliance on Lord Melbourne. I am surprised at the lack of emotion in her writings but have to remember that she was aware her diaries and letters would eventually be read by others. I look forward to being able to get to know this queen better as I continue this book.
